YouTube Thumbnail Designer & Channel Assistant
YouTube Thumbnail Designer & Channel Assistant
We are seeking a creative, highly organized YouTube Thumbnail Designer & Channel Assistant to become the operational and visual backbone of a growing gaming-focused YouTube channel. This unique role bridges the gap between high-impact graphic design and meticulous channel administration.
Your primary mission is to capture viewer attention in the split second they scroll past a video by designing high-performing, high-CTR (Click-Through Rate) thumbnails. When you aren't designing, you will be managing the channel's day-to-day operations—handling uploads, optimization, email correspondence, and workflow organization.
Part-time: 20 hours per week
Niche: Gaming Content & Culture
Remote: Fully remote, AEDT working hours (PH-based candidates preferred)
Engagement Type: Independent Contractor
Monthly Rate: $400-550 (based on a 20-hour workweek; flexible depending on experience)
What You'll Be Doing:
- Thumbnail Design & CTR Optimization:
- Design highly engaging, scroll-stopping YouTube thumbnails that directly improve click-through rates.
- Adapt visual styles based on trending gaming topics, memes, and analytics.
- Maintain a cohesive visual identity across the channel while ensuring each video stands out.
- Channel Management & Upload Operations:
- Manage the end-to-end upload workflow: add optimized titles, descriptions, tags, metadata, and end screens.
- Schedule video releases and maintain an organized content library.
- Administrative & Email Support:
- Monitor and manage the channel's public/business inbox, responding to inquiries and filtering opportunities professionally.
- Track pending deliverables and keep the creator's schedule organized.
- Multimedia & Content Support:
- Assist with pulling highlights, compiling clips, or making minor adjustments to short-form content (TikToks/Shorts/Reels) using tools like CapCut.
Who You Are:
- 3+ years of experience working with YouTube operations and/or thumbnail designing
- Exceptional graphic design skills with a specific portfolio demonstrating YouTube thumbnails, gaming graphics, or high-impact social media visuals.
- A strong instinct for what makes a viewer click—mastery of contrast, focal points, and expression placement.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills for handling business emails and audience interactions.
- High level of administrative discipline; you don't let emails slide, or metadata get sloppy.
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Canva, or Illustrator.
- Deep familiarity with gaming trends, popular creators, memes, and current gaming culture.
- Experience with basic video editing tools like CapCut or Premiere Pro.
- Understanding of algorithm optimization, keywords, and metadata formatting.
