A Cape Town–based tourism company is looking for a Marketing Strategist to lead its marketing function end-to-end. In this role, you will design and execute strategies that strengthen our established brand, turn audience engagement into bookings, and tailor campaigns to seasonal demand. You will also guide and align the team on marketing initiatives, ensuring all efforts produce measurable, tangible results.

  • Part-time (20 hours/week)
  • Remote Job
  • Working Hours: South Africa
  • Monthly Salary: $400-800
  • Start Date: ASAP
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Growth Marketer, you’ll own the strategy and execution of marketing initiatives, driving consistent performance and growth across all platforms. You’ll turn insights into action, optimize campaigns, and take full responsibility for results.

Strategy & Ownership

  • Own and manage the full marketing function
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with business objectives and seasonal demand
  • Translate business goals into actionable campaigns, content plans, and measurable KPIs
  • Provide regular performance updates, insights, and strategic recommendations to the founder and team

Content & Social Media

  • Plan, create, and publish high-quality content across Instagram, TikTok, and other relevant platforms
  • Transform raw tour photos and videos into engaging, conversion-driven content
  • Grow existing social media accounts from established presence to category-leading brands
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule and actively drive audience engagement

Growth & Performance

  • Drive measurable growth in followers, engagement, and inbound inquiries
  • Manage, test, and optimize paid advertising campaigns where applicable (Meta, TikTok)
  • Implement targeted strategies to increase bookings during low-season periods
  • Monitor performance metrics and continuously optimize based on data and insights

Community & Responsiveness

  • Ensure timely, professional responses to social media and digital inquiries
  • Develop templates and workflows to efficiently handle common booking-related questions
  • Collaborate on CRM or inbox management processes to prevent missed opportunities
What You'll Bring:
  • 5–10+ years of marketing experience, preferably within tourism, travel, lifestyle, or experience-driven brands
  • Demonstrated success in scaling marketing channels beyond the early growth stage, not solely launching from zero
  • Strong strategic capability combined with a hands-on execution mindset
  • Ability to operate effectively as a standalone marketing lead, taking full ownership of outcomes
  • Solid understanding of seasonality and capacity-based business models
  • Confident, clear communicator capable of leading initiatives with minimal oversight
  • Data-informed, results-oriented, and proactive in identifying and driving opportunities
