Experienced

About the Client
The client is a specialized business consultancy and software integration firm that bridges the gap between financial operations and cloud workflow ecosystems. They focus heavily on building automated business applications, custom integrations, and deep data connections for platforms like Monday.com and financial suites like Xero. By turning complex operational workflows into seamless cloud applications, they help businesses scale efficiently, automate manual data entry, and establish a single source of truth for their operational data.

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced React Developer to join a growing product development team focused on enhancing an existing application within the Monday.com ecosystem. Rather than building a product from scratch, you will work on an established Monday.com Marketplace app, developing new features, improving existing functionality, and helping accelerate the product roadmap. You'll collaborate closely with an experienced development team in a fast-paced environment where quality, speed, and ownership are equally important.

The ideal candidate is a strong React developer who enjoys solving real-world product challenges, is comfortable working across APIs and cloud infrastructure, and can quickly contribute to an existing codebase with minimal onboarding.

Full time: 40 hours per week
Remote: Fully remote (client based in Sydney, Australia)
Engagement Type: Independent Contractor
Monthly Rate: $1600~ (based on a 40-hour workweek; flexible depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product & Front-End Evolution: Develop new features and enhancements for an existing Monday.com Marketplace application. Build responsive, scalable user interfaces using React, maintaining clean, reusable, and highly maintainable code.
  • API & Integration Architecture: Build and maintain REST and GraphQL API integrations with third-party platforms. Implement secure authentication workflows and integrate external business systems such as Xero and other SaaS applications.
  • Cloud Infrastructure & Data: Work fluidly within an AWS-hosted application environment. Develop and test features using Docker-based workflows, write efficient queries for PostgreSQL databases, and support ongoing deployment cycles.
  • Agile Collaboration: Participate actively in technical discussions, solution designs, and code reviews within an Agile development environment. Communicate progress proactively and contribute ideas to optimize the codebase.
Role Requirements (Must-Haves):
  • React Expertise: Strong commercial experience with React alongside a solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Codebase Navigation: Proven experience jumping into existing software products and codebases, understanding architectural patterns quickly with minimal ramp-up time.
  • API Proficiency: Hands-on experience building and consuming APIs, with dedicated experience working with GraphQL.
  • Modern Toolstack: Practical commercial experience with PostgreSQL (or similar relational databases), Docker environment configurations, and Git workflow patterns.
  • Cloud Delivery: Experience deploying or maintaining applications hosted on AWS infrastructure.
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Previous experience developing, publishing, or maintaining applications within the Monday.com Marketplace ecosystem using their specific SDK and GraphQL API.
  • Experience integrating business management or financial SaaS platforms like Xero.
  • A strong eye for UI/UX design and overall user experience awareness.

Development & AI Philosophy
The successful candidate should understand how to leverage AI responsibly within the software development lifecycle. AI may be used to assist with research, brainstorming, prototyping, or improving developer productivity. However, production code must be written, reviewed, and validated through sound software engineering practices. The ideal engineer understands when AI is helpful and when strict engineering judgment must take precedence, particularly when working with customer-facing systems and sensitive data.

Recruitment Process:
  • Initial Interview
  • Test Assignment
  • Client Interview
  • Offer and Onboarding
