Senior Technical Recruiter (with Engineering Background)
Bamboo Works is expanding, and we’re looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter with a deep understanding of software development and technical roles. Someone who isn’t just familiar with tech... but lives and breathes it.
This is not a standard recruiting role. We’re seeking someone who can assess talent at a technical level, ideally with a background in engineering or computer science. You should be able to recognize code quality, evaluate real capabilities, and help us ensure that only top-tier talent reaches our clients.
If you're someone who understands code, architecture, and software development at a deep level — and you’ve either worked in engineering before or studied it academically — then you might be exactly who we’re looking for.
Location: Remote, PH working hours, independent contractor
Type: Part-Time/Full-time
Responsibilities
You won’t just be sourcing developers — you’ll be qualifying them at a technical level many recruiters can’t.
- Source and screen highly technical candidates globally across engineering, data, DevOps, and other specialized roles
- Review portfolios, GitHub repositories, technical tests, and other work samples to assess hands-on capability
- Conduct in-depth technical interviews to evaluate candidates beyond CVs and keywords
- Provide clear, concise assessments on each candidate’s technical strengths and potential fit
- Collaborate with the internal team to continuously refine and improve technical recruitment processes
- Spot true technical excellence (and identify red flags).
- Assess real-world capabilities — not just buzzwords and CV fluff.
- Quality-first approach: you’d rather send 2 exceptional profiles than 10 average ones
- Clear communication: you can explain technical strengths and weaknesses in plain English for non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
- Solid technical foundation: degree in computer science, engineering, or related field — or professional experience in tech
- Ability to understand and evaluate code, software architecture, and real-world problem-solving ability
- 3+ years of experience in technical recruitment, with a strong track record of hiring for complex tech roles
- Confident in sourcing and assessing talent globally across different time zones and cultures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when translating technical evaluations into plain language
Nice to Haves
- Prior experience working as a developer or in a technical role before moving into recruitment
- Experience designing or implementing technical assessments for engineering candidates
