An Australian-based Karate Academy, dedicated to empowering individuals of all ages through traditional Japanese Goju-Ryu Karate, is seeking a Social Media Manager to manage and grow our digital presence across Facebook, Instagram, and potentially TikTok and YouTube.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Social Media Manager, you will produce and schedule engaging posts for Facebook, Instagram, and potentially TikTok and YouTube, utilizing existing photo and video content. This role is responsible for managing and growing the academy’s digital presence, fostering community engagement, and promoting our programs, while supporting our mission of developing personal growth, discipline, and confidence through authentic martial arts.

What You'll Be Doing:
As a Social Media Manager, you will produce and schedule engaging posts for Facebook, Instagram, and potentially TikTok and YouTube, utilizing existing photo and video content. This role is responsible for managing and growing the academy’s digital presence, fostering community engagement, and promoting our programs, while supporting our mission of developing personal growth, discipline, and confidence through authentic martial arts.
- Edit and repurpose existing video footage into engaging content, including class highlights, testimonials, and behind-the-scenes clips.
- Create, schedule, and publish social media posts across multiple accounts (Karate Academy and Boxing Studio).
- Write authentic, engaging captions that reflect Stacey’s tone and values (no AI-generated content).
- Develop and maintain a basic content calendar (optional but encouraged).
- Monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages, and support light community management.
- Track content performance and provide regular updates and insights.
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing social media accounts, including Facebook and Instagram; experience with TikTok and YouTube Shorts is a plus, preferably within fitness, martial arts, or personal development sectors
- Proven ability to create, edit, and repurpose engaging video and photo content
- Strong video editing skills (iMovie or equivalent); basic design skills using Canva are an advantage
- Proficiency with social media scheduling tools such as Later, Buffer, or native platform tools is highly preferred
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to craft authentic and engaging captions
- Self-motivated, creative, and able to work independently while responding constructively to feedback
