We are looking for a Financial Planning Assistant to support the operations and client onboarding processes of a growing wealth management firm. This remote, full time role is ideal for someone detail-oriented and organized, with experience in financial services or administrative support.

Full time: Remote (AU working hours), independent contractor role
Starting Date: ASAP
Monthly Starting Salary: $800-1600 (depending on level of experience) 

As a Financial Planning Assistant, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the financial planning team. This includes managing client onboarding, maintaining client files and documentation, and assisting with various compliance and operational tasks. You will work closely with the financial planners to ensure a seamless client experience. Crucial in this role a background in financial planning or financial services, a very strong attention to details, and a relentless proactive approach to keeping things organized and on schedule (following up on documents etc.).
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboard new financial planning clients by collecting and organizing all required documentation (e.g. ID, income statements, asset/liability information)
  • Conduct initial client due diligence and compliance checks
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files, both physical and digital
  • Follow up with clients to obtain outstanding documents or information
  • Assist financial planners in preparing client review materials
  • Coordinate the execution of client agreements and other legal documents
  • Provide general administrative support to the financial planning team as needed


Required Experience and Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience working in a financial planning or advisory firm as an assistant
  • Strong understanding of financial planning processes and compliance requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Familiarity in using financial planning software and CRM systems is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and spoken (there will be quite some calling involved) 
  • Exceptionally client oriented and great client service skills
  • Knowledge of investment products and retirement planning concepts is preferred
