We are seeking a creative, proactive, and highly organized Social Media Manager & Content Creator to join a specialized maritime cruise and expedition operator based in Norway. Operating out of regions like Tromsø, the client offers authentic, high-end cruises, Northern Lights expeditions, and immersive local travel experiences. 

In this position, you will transform an extensive library of raw video, drone footage, TV broadcast clips, and guest photography into captivating social media content. Working directly with the team, your mission is simple: elevate brand presence, build an engaged community, and drive direct bookings through consistent, high-quality storytelling across all social platforms.

Part-time: 20 hours per week ​​
Remote: Fully remote (client based in Norway), CET working hours
Engagement Type: Independent Contractor
Monthly Rate: $600-700 (based on a 20-hour workweek; flexible depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Short-Form Video Production: Edit dynamic vertical and horizontal videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, Pinterest, and Reddit using supplied briefs, raw TV footage, drone shots, and guest media.
  • Full-Funnel Social Management: Plan, schedule, and execute the monthly organic content calendar across all brand channels. Write engaging, on-brand captions in fluent English and monitor community engagement.
  • Recurring Storytelling Series: Help develop and produce signature content series, including:
    • Behind-the-scenes insights into seamanship and daily life.
    • Onboard crew, guest moments, and expedition operations.
    • Local travel tips, hidden gems, and Arctic Norway inspiration.
  • Brand Asset Management: Maintain a structured, organized media library and design simple branded elements, intros/outros, and visual overlays.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor platform insights, stay ahead of algorithm trends, and continuously adapt content to maximize reach, engagement, and direct booking interest.
Role Requirements (Must-Haves):
  • 3+ years of professional experience in social media strategy, digital marketing, or content creation within an agency or video production environment.
  • Proven portfolio demonstrating short-form vertical video edits (Reels, TikTok, Shorts) with exceptional narrative flow and pacing.
  • Hands-on experience with professional editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut).
  • Solid track record managing professional social accounts across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, and Reddit.
  • Excellent written English skills, sharp attention to detail, and the discipline to manage a remote workflow independently.
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Prior experience in travel, tourism, maritime, adventure, or luxury destination marketing.
  • Graphic design and photo editing skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Lightroom).
  • Experience with social media scheduling tools, Meta Business Suite, basic motion graphics, or analytics reporting.
