Business Development Representative (Outbound Sales)
About the Client
We’re helping a UK-based performance marketing consultancy find a Business Development Representative to help build a steady pipeline of qualified client opportunities.
This is a growth-focused role working directly with the founder, with strong earning potential through commissions for landed clients.
The Role
This is a client-facing outbound sales role focused on identifying prospects, starting conversations, nurturing opportunities, and booking qualified meetings.
We’re looking for someone with exceptional spoken English, strong confidence on calls, and the ability to communicate naturally and professionally with decision-makers.
This is not a script-reading role. You’ll need to build rapport, ask good questions, handle objections, and manage follow-ups with ownership.
Role Details
Commitment: Part-Time, 20 hours/week
Working Hours: UK business hours / strong UK overlap
Location: Fully Remote
Engagement: Independent Contractor
Start Date: ASAP
Base Pay: USD $560–800/month
Uncapped Commission: Earn £1,000–2,000 for every new client successfully signed by the company from opportunities you generate
What You’ll Do
Outbound Prospecting & Lead Generation
Conduct outbound prospecting through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels
Make cold calls to targeted industries and decision-makers
Research companies and contacts before outreach
Follow up with warm leads generated through marketing campaigns
Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects
Qualification & Meeting Booking
Qualify prospects and identify potential opportunities
Handle objections professionally and keep conversations moving forward
Schedule qualified meetings directly into the founder’s calendar
Follow up consistently with prospects who are not yet ready to engage
Work toward monthly meeting and pipeline generation targets
CRM & Pipeline Management
Maintain accurate CRM records and activity tracking
Manage multiple conversations and opportunities at the same time
Share feedback from outreach conversations to improve targeting and messaging
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves
Previous experience in appointment setting, business development, lead generation, or outbound B2B sales (at least 3 years)
Excellent spoken English with a clear, confident, and professional communication style
Strong cold calling skills and comfort speaking with decision-makers
Ability to build rapport quickly and hold natural business conversations
Strong written English for LinkedIn and email outreach
Ability to handle objections calmly and professionally
Strong follow-up discipline and pipeline organization
Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently
Nice-to-Haves
Experience selling digital marketing, agency, SaaS, or professional services
Experience working with UK-based clients or companies
CRM experience such as HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce, or similar
LinkedIn outreach and social selling experience
Understanding of performance marketing and lead generation services
